The JMET is a two-stage air handler that matches its airflow to two-stage York outdoor equipment — low and quiet for the long shoulder-season hours, full output when a Central Texas heat wave demands it. Correct stage matching between indoor and outdoor units is one of the quiet details that separates a proper install from a parts swap; it's standard practice on our jobs.

YORK® JMET
The JMET is the modular version of York's standard-ECM air handler: the blower module and coil module come apart, which is sometimes the only way to get equipment through a scuttle hole, up a pull-down ladder, or into a genuinely cramped closet. Same five-speed standard ECM motor economics as the single-piece JHET, different packaging.
It pairs with single-stage and two-stage York outdoor units, holds cabinet leakage to 2% or less, and carries the MaxAlloy aluminum coil in a sloped composite pan. For the Leander housing stock with tight attic hatches and converted-closet mechanical spaces, modularity isn't a luxury — it's how the job gets done without cutting drywall.
As with every air handler we install, the blower speed gets set against measured duct static and verified at the registers, and stage matching to the outdoor unit is confirmed during commissioning.

Owning this system in Central Texas
Modular seams are extra joints, and joints are where attic air sneaks in. Ours get sealed and verified at install — if you're inheriting an existing JMET, having those module joints inspected is a cheap first step when rooms feel weaker than they should.
Like its single-piece sibling, the five-speed ECM needs its tap re-checked whenever the duct system changes. Keep the install sheet we leave behind; the selected speed and measured static are written on it for the next technician.
Pairing guidance: the JMET's five-speed ECM covers single-stage and two-stage outdoor units well, but if you're buying variable-capacity outdoor equipment, step up to the JMVT — a fixed-speed blower caps what a modulating condenser can deliver. We match the indoor tier to the outdoor tier on every quote so the system performs as a system.
