YORK® product
YORK® Hybrid Electronic Air Cleaner
The hybrid electronic air cleaner combines media filtration with electronic capture to reach MERV 16 performance — fine enough to grab smoke, allergens, and virus-sized particles across the whole home. It's the step past a media cabinet for households with serious allergy or respiratory concerns. We match it to your blower so filtration doesn't strangle airflow.

Factory-authorized
YORK® Hybrid Electronic Air Cleaner
The hybrid electronic air cleaner is York's strongest whole-home filtration: media filtration plus electronic capture reaching MERV 16 performance. York's published numbers — 95% of virus-sized particles, 98% of airborne dust, 99% of allergens and mold particles, down to one micron — put it in a different class from anything that slides into a one-inch filter slot.
It installs in your return-air ducting and treats every cubic foot of air your system moves, up to 2,000 CFM, permanently trapping captured particles in the media. Unlike old-style electronic precipitators, the hybrid design keeps working consistently between filter changes — which are only needed one to three times a year.
MERV 16 filtration has a cost: resistance. We verify your blower can move rated airflow through it before we install, because high-MERV filtration that strangles airflow trades one problem for two. That check is part of the quote, not an extra.
Every install starts with a free in-home assessment and a flat written price — no surprises. Call 512-528-4258 or request service online.

Who this model fits
- Households with serious allergy, asthma, or respiratory concerns — the step past a media cabinet.
- Homes that want virus-scale filtration across the whole house, not one room.
- Cedar-fever sufferers: December–February cedar season in the Hill Country is exactly what MERV 16 is for.
Warranty
- York: 5-year parts limited warranty; 1-year bulb and power assembly limited warranty.
- MLD Services: lifetime workmanship warranty — if our install or repair work ever fails, we make it right.
York's extended warranty terms require online registration within 90 days of installation — otherwise parts coverage reverts to 5 years. We register every unit we install as part of the job, so you never have to think about it.
From the field
Owning this system in Central Texas
Plan on one to three media changes a year — we track it by pressure drop, not the calendar, since cedar season loads filters at double speed. The electronic section gets checked at the same visit; a failed power assembly quietly turns a MERV 16 unit into a passive filter.
Give it airflow to work with: the cleaner treats what passes through it, so running the blower's circulation mode during heavy pollen weeks meaningfully improves whole-house capture. With a variable-speed air handler that costs pennies a day.
Where it sits in the line: the MERV 11/13 media cabinet handles typical allergy and dust loads at lower cost and lower airflow demand; this hybrid MERV 16 unit is the step for medical-grade concerns — asthma, immune compromise, wildfire-smoke sensitivity. We'll measure your blower's static headroom first, because the honest prerequisite for MERV 16 is airflow to spare.
