York's whole-home media air cleaner is the workhorse filtration upgrade: a deep-pleated MERV 11 or MERV 13 cabinet in your return-air duct that filters every pass of air through the system — up to 2,000 CFM — capturing up to 98% of particles down to one micron, including dust, pollen, bacteria, spores, and virus-sized particles.
For Central Texas allergy seasons it's usually the first upgrade we recommend, because the calendar here barely leaves a gap: cedar from December to February, oak in spring, ragweed in fall. A one-inch filter protects the equipment; a media cabinet actually protects the people. And unlike portable room units, it treats the whole house silently and out of sight.
The deep pleats also mean capacity: filter changes run one to three times per year instead of monthly, and the media loads up without choking airflow the way a high-MERV one-inch filter does. We match the MERV rating to your blower's capability so filtration and airflow both win.
