YORK® product

YORK® TM8E

The TM8E is a single-stage 80% AFUE furnace on York's TM platform — dependable standard-efficiency heat with a step up in blower quality over the entry line. For many Leander-area homes that only run serious heat a few weeks a year, it's the rational choice; we'll tell you plainly when your usage pattern justifies the 90%+ tier instead.

YORK® TM8E

Factory-authorized

YORK® TM8E

The TM8E is the value single-stage furnace on York's TM platform: 80% AFUE, a five-speed X13-style ECM blower, and the compact 33-inch multi-position cabinet. It's the honest baseline for homes with chimneys or existing 80%-class venting where the heating season is too short to justify condensing equipment.

The ECM blower is the quiet upgrade over older builder-grade furnaces — it sips electricity compared to a PSC motor and gives us five speeds to match airflow to your duct system. Since the furnace blower also drives your air conditioning airflow all summer, that efficiency works for you twelve months a year, not just during freezes.

Hot-surface ignition, a fully insulated cabinet, a 100% shut-off gas valve, and true multi-position installation flexibility complete a straightforward, repairable machine — and York backs the heat exchanger for life on registered units.

Every install starts with a free in-home assessment and a flat written price — no surprises. Call 512-528-4258 or request service online.

Who this model fits

  • Straight like-for-like replacements of failed 80% furnaces where venting changes aren't wanted.
  • Homes that heat a few weeks a year — the classic Central Texas usage pattern.
  • Budget-led projects that still deserve a lifetime heat exchanger warranty.

Warranty

  • York: lifetime heat exchanger limited warranty and 10-year parts limited warranty (with registration).
  • MLD Services: lifetime workmanship warranty — if our install or repair work ever fails, we make it right.

York's extended warranty terms require online registration within 90 days of installation — otherwise parts coverage reverts to 5 years. We register every unit we install as part of the job, so you never have to think about it.

The honest note

Single-stage 80% is the right floor for many homes here — but if uneven room temperatures bother you, staging (TM8Y) fixes that for a modest step up, and we'll quote both.

From the field

Owning this system in Central Texas

The five-speed ECM motor is the component to protect: keep filters fresh so it isn't fighting a clogged return, and have the temperature rise checked annually. An 80% furnace running hot from low airflow shortens its own heat exchanger life quietly.

Since the furnace blower also serves your AC, we set separate heating and cooling speeds at install. If summers feel weaker than winters (or vice versa), that speed split is the first thing worth re-checking — a five-minute adjustment, not a parts problem.
