YORK® product

YORK® TM8V

The TM8V pairs two-stage heating with a variable-speed, communicating-capable blower in the standard-efficiency (80% class) tier. The low first stage covers mild Central Texas cold fronts quietly and evenly; full fire is there for hard freezes. The variable blower also improves year-round air circulation and cooling performance — a benefit you use all twelve months.

YORK® TM8V

The TM8V pairs a two-stage burner with York's variable-speed premium ECM blower in the 80% AFUE class — the comfort configuration for homes that don't need condensing efficiency. The low first stage carries mild Texas cold fronts quietly and evenly; full fire stands by for the genuine freezes.

The variable-speed blower is the part you feel year-round. It ramps gently instead of slamming on, circulates air at a whisper between calls, and — critically for us — sharpens summer air-conditioning performance and humidity control, because the same blower drives your cooling airflow. ClimaTrak humidity logic tunes its behavior to our climate profile.

It's communicating-capable, integrating with the Hx3 control and zoning system for self-diagnostics and finer staging, and it converts to propane where needed. Lifetime heat exchanger coverage on registered units makes the ownership math straightforward.

Every install starts with a free in-home assessment and a flat written price — no surprises. Call 512-528-4258 or request service online.

Who this model fits

  • Comfort-focused homes with existing 80%-class venting that want staged, even heat without a venting retrofit.
  • Anyone pairing with a two-stage or variable AC — the variable blower is the indoor half of that comfort story.
  • Households sensitive to noise and temperature swings.

Warranty

  • York: lifetime heat exchanger limited warranty and 10-year parts limited warranty (with registration).
  • MLD Services: lifetime workmanship warranty — if our install or repair work ever fails, we make it right.

York's extended warranty terms require online registration within 90 days of installation — otherwise parts coverage reverts to 5 years. We register every unit we install as part of the job, so you never have to think about it.

From the field

Owning this system in Central Texas

Owners feel the TM8V most in shoulder seasons: long, quiet low-fire cycles that hold rooms within a degree. If you're coming from a single-stage furnace, expect more runtime at lower intensity — the gas meter, not the run hours, is what to watch.

Pair it deliberately: with a two-stage AC (YXT class) and the Hx3, its variable-speed blower serves staged cooling all summer. That pairing is where the 80% two-stage-variable configuration outruns its efficiency class in real comfort per dollar.

Where it sits in the line: it's the 80%-class twin of the TM9V — same two-stage burner, same variable-speed blower, non-condensing venting. Choose between them on venting practicality and gas usage: heavy heaters with easy PVC routing lean TM9V; short-season homes with existing metal flues lean TM8V. Either way the summer airflow benefit rides along.
