YORK® UV Air Treatment System

York's ultraviolet air treatment targets the damp interior surfaces of your HVAC system where condensation feeds microbial growth — killing odor-causing bacteria and keeping the coil clean, which also preserves its heat-transfer efficiency. The germicidal lamp is a roughly annual replacement (every ~9,000 hours); we handle it on maintenance visits.

YORK® UV Air Treatment System

York's ultraviolet air treatment system points germicidal UVC light at the dampest, darkest part of your HVAC system — the indoor coil and drain pan, where condensation feeds mold, fungus, and odor-causing bacteria. In a Central Texas cooling season the coil is wet for months at a stretch; this is the device that keeps that from becoming a biology experiment.

The payoff is twofold. Air quality: microbial growth on the coil is a common source of musty smells and airborne irritants, and UVC continuously suppresses it. Efficiency: a biofilm-coated coil transfers heat measurably worse, so a clean coil protects the performance you paid for. York's lamp design is built specifically for the cold, damp, fast-moving air inside ductwork, where ordinary UVC lamps underperform.

Maintenance is honest and simple: the germicidal lamp needs replacement every 9,000 operating hours — roughly annually — and we handle that as part of routine maintenance visits so it never becomes your problem to remember.

Every install starts with a free in-home assessment and a flat written price — no surprises. Call 512-528-4258 or request service online.

Who this model fits

  • Homes with musty AC smells or a history of coil and drain-pan microbial growth.
  • High-humidity households where the coil stays wet most of the year — i.e., most of Central Texas.
  • Owners protecting a new system's efficiency for the long haul.

Warranty

  • York: 5-year parts limited warranty; 1-year bulb and power assembly limited warranty.
  • MLD Services: lifetime workmanship warranty — if our install or repair work ever fails, we make it right.

York's extended warranty terms require online registration within 90 days of installation — otherwise parts coverage reverts to 5 years. We register every unit we install as part of the job, so you never have to think about it.

From the field

Owning this system in Central Texas

Ownership is one lamp a year — roughly 9,000 operating hours — and we replace it during regular maintenance so it never becomes a task you track. UVC output fades before the blue glow does, so 'it still looks lit' is not a useful health check.

Position matters as much as the lamp: ours are aimed at the coil and drain pan where condensation actually feeds growth. If you're adding UV to a system we didn't install, we'll verify placement before selling you anything — a mis-aimed lamp sanitizes nothing but the sheet metal.
