YORK® product
YORK® YC2E
The YC2E is York's dependable entry point: a single-stage air conditioner rated at 14.3 SEER2 that covers today's efficiency standards without the premium price. It's the honest pick when the budget is the constraint and the ductwork is sound. MLD Services installs it factory-authorized, sized to your home's actual load — and if another company quoted you more system than you need, our second opinion is free.

Factory-authorized
YORK® YC2E
The YC2E is York's post-2023 entry point: a single-stage air conditioner built to meet the Department of Energy's current 14.3 SEER2 southern-region minimum, with microchannel aluminum coils and a powder-coat finish rated to 1,000 hours of salt spray. Nothing exotic — a scroll compressor, a straightforward fan, and a cabinet designed so a technician can actually reach the parts that need service.
That serviceability is worth more than it sounds. Diagonal base valves, single-panel electrical access, and a swing-out control box mean repairs take less labor time, and less labor time is money in your pocket over a 12-to-15-year life. As a repair-first company, we notice which brands design for the second owner of the equipment — this one does.
We size every YC2E with a Manual J load calculation rather than copying the old unit's tonnage, because an oversized single-stage unit short-cycles: it cools the air fast but leaves the humidity behind, which is exactly the wrong failure mode for Central Texas.
Every install starts with a free in-home assessment and a flat written price — no surprises. Call 512-528-4258 or request service online.

Who this model fits
- Budget-driven replacements where the ductwork is sound and the goal is dependable cold air at the lowest responsible price.
- Rental properties and planned-sale homes where a premium unit's payback would belong to the next owner.
- Homeowners pairing a new condenser with an existing mid-life furnace or air handler.
Warranty
- York: 10-year compressor limited warranty and 10-year parts limited warranty (with registration).
- MLD Services: lifetime workmanship warranty — if our install or repair work ever fails, we make it right.
York's extended warranty terms require online registration within 90 days of installation — otherwise parts coverage reverts to 5 years. We register every unit we install as part of the job, so you never have to think about it.
The honest note
Single-stage means on-or-off — fine for straight cooling, weaker at humidity control during mild, muggy weeks. If sticky indoor air bothers you at 74°, ask us to price the two-stage tier before you decide.
From the field
Owning this system in Central Texas
Operating expectations: a single-stage unit runs flat out every cycle, so keep the outdoor coil clear of grass clippings and live-oak leaf drop — a dirty coil on a unit with no capacity headroom shows up directly on the electric bill. Rinse seasons matter here more than on staged equipment.
This platform uses R-410A refrigerant, which remains fully serviceable, but the industry is transitioning new equipment to R-454B. That doesn't hurt a YC2E you buy today — parts and refrigerant support run decades — but it's a fair question to ask, and we'd rather you hear it from us during the quote than from a scare-tactic ad later.
