YORK® product

YORK® YH2E

The YH2E is the value heat pump in York's lineup — single-stage, rated 14.3 SEER2 for cooling and 8.0 HSPF2 for heating. For Leander-area homes replacing an aging AC-plus-furnace pair, it consolidates both jobs into one efficient system at an accessible price. Federal credits and utility rebates often apply to qualifying heat pumps; we'll point you at the current programs during the quote.

YORK® YH2E

The YH2E is the value entry in York's heat pump lineup, rated 14.3 SEER2 cooling and 8.0 HSPF2 heating to meet the current Department of Energy minimums. A detail the price tag doesn't advertise: every size except the 1.5-ton uses a two-stage compressor, so most installs get staged operation — longer, gentler low-stage runs — at single-stage money.

For Leander-area homes replacing an aging AC-plus-furnace pair, the YH2E consolidates both jobs into one electric system. It can also be configured dual-fuel with a York gas furnace, using the heat pump for our many mild winter hours and switching to gas only when a hard freeze demands it — we set that switchover point during commissioning.

Federal tax credits and utility rebates frequently apply to qualifying heat pump installs; we flag the current programs during the quote so the incentives are part of your real price, not an afterthought.

Every install starts with a free in-home assessment and a flat written price — no surprises. Call 512-528-4258 or request service online.

Who this model fits

  • Budget-conscious replacements moving from separate AC and furnace to one heat pump system.
  • Homes without gas service, where electric heating and cooling from a single unit is the clean answer.
  • Landlords and first-time buyers who want current-code efficiency at entry pricing.

Warranty

  • York: 10-year compressor limited warranty and 10-year parts limited warranty (with registration).
  • MLD Services: lifetime workmanship warranty — if our install or repair work ever fails, we make it right.

York's extended warranty terms require online registration within 90 days of installation — otherwise parts coverage reverts to 5 years. We register every unit we install as part of the job, so you never have to think about it.

From the field

Owning this system in Central Texas

The hidden feature to exploit: every size but the 1.5-ton has a two-stage compressor, so ask us to configure the thermostat to actually use both stages — some installs never wire the second stage and leave comfort on the table.

In heating season, expect the outdoor unit to run long and occasionally steam during defrost — normal heat pump behavior that surprises first-time owners. Our maintenance plan checks defrost operation and backup-heat staging each fall so February never becomes a surprise.

Where it sits in the line: the YHG above it adds ENERGY STAR certification and demand defrost; the Affinity tiers add staging refinement and lifetime compressor coverage. The YH2E's job is delivering current-code heat pump economics at the lowest entry price — and with the hidden two-stage compressor on most sizes, it does that with more grace than its price tag suggests.
